Page 21

A slow smile creeps on my face as I let that sink in.

  It fucking worked.

The door flies open, and an officer walks in, but my eyes widen as I take in who it is. Officer Cunningham, the guy who gave us shit the last time we were here.

  Fuck, this can’t be good.

His eyes narrow on me as he closes the door behind him. “You!”

I rub the back of my neck. “Me,” I reply cockily.

“I hear you’re looking for Officer Letum? I know who he is. What he does. How he works in this place. I know what you’re here for. Who you’re here for.”

My heart pounds in my chest.

  Oh fuck, we’re screwed.

“So what? You’re gonna arrest us now? You can’t prove shit. We’re simply here in a room. We haven’t done anything.”

A slow smirk crosses his lips. “I like you, Vibe. You fight for what you believe in. But it’ll get you killed or arrested one day.”

“One day?” I ask wondering why he said that and not today.

He chuckles. “You don’t get it, do you?”

“Enlighten me.” I shrug, trying to seem blasé.

Dax bursts out laughing. “Holy shit! You act like a straight cop to hide the truth, don’t you, Cunningham?” The prospect speaks out of turn.

I glare at him making him grimace, but I turn to Cunningham wondering if Dax is actually right.

Cunningham licks his lips. “Do you know what Letum means in Latin?”

I scoff out a laugh. “I’m Finnish. So, no, I don’t understand Latin.”

Cunningham’s face turns up in an evil smirk. “It means death.”

Dax chuckles. “So, you have a kind of pseudonym calling yourself Officer Death. Yeah, that’s badass!”

I narrow my eyes on Dax urging him to stop. He raises his hands in surrender as Cunningham shrugs. “When Letum is asked for, the guards know some shit is going to go down and to bring whoever asked for him to this room. The cameras are turned off for a period of forty-five minutes. We’ve wasted ten. I’ll go get Raphael and bring him here for you to do whatever you like, and then… I’ll send in a clean-up crew.”

“Yes! Total badass,” Dax gushes, and I turn glaring at him again.

Dax withdraws into himself as I turn back to Cunningham. “How do I know you’re legit?”

“How do I know you won’t report what I do to my superiors? It’s mutual trust, Vibe. I’m delivering scum for you to deal with however you see fit. And you get vengeance for whatever crime he committed toward you or your loved ones. Way I see it, it’s a win-win.”

I roll my shoulders in acceptance. “Okay.”

“Gloves are on the cupboard. Inside the drawers you will find everything you need. When I bring him in, I will place him on the chair. I’d appreciate it if you keep him there. There’s a drain underneath for the blood. Any questions?”

“Do we just leave when we’re done?” Finn asks.

These fucking prospects are really giving me the shits. For guys who were meant to stay silent, they’re both doing far too much talking.

“Try not to get too much blood on you. You need to leave looking the same way you did coming in. You can exit the room when you’re ready and leave.”

“Cunningham,” I ask as he heads for the door.

  He turns back. “Yeah?”

  “Appreciate it.”

“Believe me when I tell you, I do, too. That asshole deserves everything he’s getting. And side note, the room’s soundproof. Go your hardest.” And with those final words, he walks out of the room.

I turn back to my two prospects, glaring at them. “You two… I thought we ran through the protocol with you, you fucking idiots.”

Dax inhales. “Yeah, but you weren’t saying the right shit.”

I grunt. “Fuck you, prospect. Know your damn place.”

  He nods his head. “Yeah.”

I run my hand through my hair as I pace back and forth, tension surging through me. The idea of being with Raphael and doing what I need to sends a wave of adrenaline coursing through my veins.

I have no idea of my plan.

I don’t know what I’m going to do to him.

All I know is that this is going to be fun, and I can’t fucking wait.

  Vengeance will be mine.

  VIBE

The door opens, and my heart leaps into my throat, adrenaline coursing through my heated veins. Since that night, since seeing Rowdy in such a state, I have dreamed of the many ways of seeking my vengeance on the man walking through the door before me. Of seeing his face when he knows he’s coming to his demise. It takes every fucking ounce of control I have not to lunge straight for him, wrap my hands around his throat and choke the fucking life from him. Watch as the life drains from his body.

  But no.

I need to do this the right way.

  Slow and painful.

Cunningham enters and drags Raphael behind him. He’s wearing a matching pair of orange pants and shirt. Cunningham has Raphael’s hands cuffed together. Raphael’s head is down like he’s annoyed at being dragged around the prison. Like the idiot has no idea what’s coming.

“Where the fuck are we going anyway, Cunningham?” Raphael grunts out.

“The end of the line.” Cunningham grabs Raphael and shoves him through the door making him stumble slightly. Raphael glares back at Cunningham as if he’s lost his damn mind.

Stupid fuck hasn’t even noticed us in the room.

“The fuck, man?” Raphael groans as Cunningham grins, then closes the door with a wink.

Raphael freezes, suddenly seeming to catch on that he isn’t alone in this dim, cold room. My chest pounds frantically as I wait, my prospects flanking either side of me. I crack my knuckles together sending the sound echoing through the room.

Raphael slowly turns his head, and his eyes meet mine. I see the flash of fear ripple through him before he shuts it down. It excites me. Raphael stands taller, puffing out his chest. He takes in the room and lets out a laugh. “I see what this is. You’ve double-crossed me. Haven’t you?”

I can’t help my lips from turning upward. “Did you really think we would get officers to destroy the evidence against you?”

“So, the cop who was supposed to destroy the evidence wasn’t a real cop?” he asks.

I chuckle. “Oh, no, he’s a real cop all right, and he was in on this plan all along. He knew we were going to come and see you and offer up the destruction of evidence. To also get Hayley to retract her statement. It was all to get you to tell us the location of Lily. He also knew we never had any intention of doing any of it. Retracting the statement, destroying evidence, none of that happened nor will ever happen…” I narrow my eyes on him, “… your name is mud. Will always be mud. And like the idiot you are, you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.”

“So did your Warrior buddies,” Dax adds for extra punch.

This time I don’t glare at him for speaking out of turn. It just adds to the look on Raphael’s face. His lip’s curling up, the vein in his neck pulses with every rapid beat of his heart. He’s furious, but there’s not a damn thing he can do about it now, and the fucker knows it.

Raphael inhales sharply like he’s thinking hard about his next move. Then suddenly, he spins, running for the door. I signal to Dax and Finn, and they take off after him, slamming against his body as he fumbles with the handle. A loud thud echoes around the large expanse as I shake my head moving over to the stainless-steel cupboard to fetch a pair of gloves.

“You can’t fucking do this. I have people who will come looking for me.”

“Then let them look. Fuck if we care. But so you know, we took out a whole bunch of them while getting Lily back,” I grunt out, pulling the latex gloves on one by one while the prospects slam Raphael down onto the seat. I turn around seeing that fear back in his eyes, and it sends a wave of euphoria through me. Knowing this asshole hurt my woman is fueling me right now. I’ve never gone to this extreme before. I’v
e never been pushed to these limits before. But for Rowdy, I’m willing to walk this threshold of darkness. I’m willing to cross over into the shadows and delve into my sinful side.

If you have to battle evil with evil, then hell, I’m ready to dance with the devil.

“Surely, we can come to an arrangement?” Raphael begs.

“You should have thought of that before you assaulted my woman!” I snort out a laugh.

I step over to the cupboard wondering what I’m going to find inside the drawers. I slide open the top drawer to an assortment of tools. Some I have no idea what they’re for, or even what they are. I can only imagine what you can do with them. But I’m going to go for something more simplistic—a length of chain.

I want to see him hurt.

I need to see him bleed.

I need to feel his bones breaking.

So, I pull out the length of chain and wrap it around my fist.

Dax and Fin chuckle as I slowly walk over, taking in languid, deep breaths. I need to keep my cool in this. I don’t want to lose my self-control. I need to remember I still have about half an hour left, maybe twenty-five minutes if you figure we need to get out of here with five minutes to spare. I can take my time and not just beat the shit out of him. I need to make him suffer for the pain he’s caused and the psychological trauma Rowdy’s suffering. This bastard needs to pay for everything, and I’m going to be the one making the transaction.

Raphael straightens in Finn and Dax’s grip like he isn’t scared, but his eyes tell me a completely different story. My fingers wrap around the cold silver chain, the remainder of it dangling down the length of my arm, and I stand in front of him as judge, jury, and executioner.

“Raphael, do you have anything you want to say before we begin?”

He cocks his head, spitting at my feet. “Fuck. You!”

I let out a laugh, relief flooding through me. He’s made it so I’m going to enjoy this all the more.

  No penance for him.

  Easy as pie.

  Here goes.

“For all the women you’ve ever talked to inappropriately…” I grip the chain hard, my fist becoming one with the metal as my adrenaline kicks into full gear. I pull my arm up, bringing it forward with as much force as I have. The chain slams into Raphael’s cheek, his head snapping to the left with the blast. The reverberation of the hit vibrates through my fist. The pain ricocheting into my joints as his cheek tears open, blood seeps down his flesh instantly, then he spits out a line of blood.

I grip the chain, preparing for the next blow.

“For all the women you’ve ever touched inappropriately.” I slam my fist into his jaw again, the resounding crunch echoes through the room as his body slumps in Dax’s grip. Dax pulls him back up as he spits out a tooth and another line of blood.

Raphael looks up at me, blood dripping from his chin as he manages a cocky smile. Fucking prick. I’ll wipe that smile right off his arrogant ass fucking face.

“For Hayley.” I clench my fist tighter than before and slam it so hard into his jaw, the sickening crack echoes through the room. He moans out so loud it’s almost deafening. As I pull my fist back, my hand throbs with an intensity I’ve never felt before as I drop the chain to the floor needing relief from the pressure surrounding my knuckles.

I glance at Raphael to see his jaw is off at a gruesome angle. His eyes roll in his head like he’s trying not to pass out while Finn and Dax fight to keep him upright.

I shake out my hand. It’s probably fractured, but I’m far from done with him yet. I might have managed to silence the fucker with a broken jaw, but I’m not finished causing him pain.

  I need him to suffer.

I head back to the cupboard to go in search of my next torture device. I need something that packs a punch but will give my hand a break for the moment. So, I search the cupboards until I find the exact thing I need. I pull out a handheld Taser. Bringing it up to my line of sight and pressing the button to ignite the probes, it buzzes to life, sending the flashes of electricity arcing between the edges. I grin maniacally at the thoughts racing through my mind.

I spin on my heel turning back toward a panting Raphael. Seeing his face deformed in the way it is sends a wave of excitement through me. I knew doing this would shift something inside me, but I never knew I would enjoy it this much. I’m a biker, a brother of the road, we’re meant to be tough. Fearless. I’m made for this life, but I never truly knew what that meant until this moment. I don’t think Finn and Dax knew what they were getting themselves in for either prospecting into the club, but they’re getting a taste of it now. This will either make or break them. But with the look on both their faces, I’d say they’re made for this, just like I am.

I step up to Raphael, his head hanging to his chest, his jaw pushed to the side with his teeth dangling from his mouth. Blood soaks his orange shirt as he zones in and out of consciousness, but I’m about to wake him the fuck up.

I move in without pause, the prospects letting go as I slam the Taser into his neck. His eyes widen as his body jolts with the voltage rampaging through his body. He pants hard with a moan as his body moves to fall to the floor, but Dax grabs Raphael sliding him back into place.

  “Undo his shirt,” I instruct.

Finn doesn’t hesitate undoing Raphael’s shirt and yanking it wide open. His arms are handcuffed together in front of him, but I can see his tattooed chest well enough to know I’m going to cause damage. I move in edging the tip of the Taser along his neck. He pants as I run it down his neck to his collarbone. His body’s shaking with my movements. He’s scared, and I love that I’m the one putting the fear of God into this pathetic excuse of a human. I slide the Taser down his chest.

“You’re nothing, Raphael. Worthless. A piece of shit on my shoe. I hope you understand that.”

His hazy eyes meet mine, and I press the Taser against his nipple clicking it on. It buzzes to life, sending a shockwave of voltage into him. His flesh begins to smolder as I keep it against him for longer than necessary. His body vibrates against the chair while Fin and Dax chuckle to themselves. His hairs curl up and singe off. Raphael’s nipple turns red and then black, starting to weep with blood as his head falls back with a jolting movement. I stop and grab his hair forcing him to look at me. Snot drips from his nose as his entire body shakes uncontrollably.

“I’m not even close to being finished with you yet, you fucking cunt.”

His eyes glaze over in fear. Good. It’s how I need him to see me. I need him to know he’s suffering for everything he’s done.

I glance at Dax. “Take off his pants.”

Dax stares at me like I’ve lost my damn mind. Maybe I have.

  “Do it, prospect!” I demand.

Finn yanks Raphael to some kind of standing position while Dax pulls down Raphael’s pants. His flaccid cock falls between his legs, and the sight hits me like a fucking sledgehammer. Anger surges through me that he thought he could go anywhere near my woman. I try to reign myself in. I try to cage the beast, but I race forward letting out an animalistic growl as I slam the Taser straight onto his cock letting the charge free. It zaps out its electricity, sending the voltage straight from the small black device into the reason my woman is broken. The reason she still can’t stand to let me touch her. I blast him with everything I have while I stare him in the eyes. His are so wide the whites are blaring at me as his body wracks with the shock. The smell of burning flesh filters through the air as he rattles to and fro, then collapses in a heap. Raphael slams into the chair, smacking his head on the back of it, his broken jaw colliding with the cold metal as he then slides to the floor in a messy heap. His pants around his ankles, he now looks like a pathetic excuse for a man.

Anger flares inside of me as I shake my head. “You had no right, no right to take what you wanted. I don’t care what your fucking excuse was. Could you be any more fucking pitiful?” I coat my mouth and spit on him like the dog he is. He doesn’t deserve th
e satisfaction of me even talking to him, but I can’t help myself as he shudders on the floor in agony. “You thought you were this hotshot Warrior. A man who could do what he wanted, to whoever he wanted, and without consequence. Well, karma’s catching up to you now, fuckface, and he wears size thirteen biker boots.”

Dax snickers while I storm over to the cupboard, hoping to find something to help me bring this to a bloody and painful end. I need something to help me bring maximum pain. To make this so I can really unleash my inner demons.

  I need him to suffer.

  I need him to bleed.

I rummage through the drawers finding a large straight-edged knife. The light sending shards of glistening rays reflecting off it onto the walls of the room. Excitement bubbles up inside of me as I spin to face the mess on the floor. And I’m about to make an even bigger mess.

I rush over to Raphael and kick his torso making him fall to his back over the drain in the floor. I know Cunningham told me to leave him on the chair, but right now I don’t give a fuck about that. The taste of vengeance is in the air, and I’m about to swallow every morsel.

  “Finn, grab his hands.”

Finn takes Raphael’s hands and slides them above his head, so he’s stretched out flat. Dax stands back watching, taking everything in.

I sit to the side of Raphael as he zones in and out, his jaw still oozing blood as his head falls to the side, his eyes meeting mine.

  He knows.

  He knows he’s done for.

I love the fear seeping from his pores. It’s like an elixir like a drug fueling me, igniting my inner demons. I’ve never felt the dead part of me coming more alive than at this moment.

I bring the knife up and slide it along his heavily tattooed torso, not leaving a mark, just enough to tease him. His body arcs off the cold floor as he feels the tip of the blade probing his skin ever so slightly.

  I want him to scream.

So, I press the blade into his collarbone digging it in enough to pierce the skin. He writhes as blood pools at the site, he moans through his broken jaw, but it’s not enough to appease me, so I begin to slide the knife downward. His groans become louder and louder until I push so deeply he lets out a scream as his body convulses. I watch as his skin begins to fold over on each side of the knife. I’m pushing deeper and deeper, feeling the push and pull of the sinew and muscle.
